Today we launch the revamped mixd.tv App – Beta 1.0. We’d like to thank all the patient people who have waited to see this happen and hope that you all agree with us that we now have a solid base to build on.

Since late last year, our small team has spent many many hours working with our fabulous designer (who in that time has become a full time mum – congrats to that!) to come up with a simpler, cleaner and more professional look, so that you can enjoy watching video in style and with ease. We still have lots of ideas of what more we can do, but we think that it’s time to let people in – and more importantly hear what you have to say!

Our major new “features” include the integration of Facebook, for those of you who don’t want to miss the videos that are being shared in your network, a quicklist area for adding videos from search results, channels or playlists that you casually browse, so that you can watch them later and the “fav star”, so that you can keep a link to your favorite videos - even if their owners disapprove of them being downloaded. The user experience is totally different to what it used to be – we’ve tried to apply the KISS rule (Keep It Simple Stupid), though we’re sure that you, our Beta Users, will help us find those obvious things that we missed!

On the content side, we still have quite a lot of German content – particularly when it comes to the broadcasters. As we are based in Berlin, German content providers are (hopefully) the guys who will help us launch. Working together with content providers, our aim is maintain partner revenue streams and become ‘THE’ app to give you users an optimal way of consuming their video. If you do own a great website with video content that you believe would make a perfect channel, then get in touch – we are always happy to talk to people about the features we can implement to make their channels work on our platform!

For the future we are working on many new and exciting ideas, however, we still have some big “under the hood” changes that will improve the performance and stability of the application. Not wanting to be boring… we do have a big target before next year and that is: making it easy for you – the users and owners of video communities - to create your own channels and present them to the community!!! So watch this space :-)
