We've just entered the test phase for the mixd.tv Mac OSX app. As it turns out the mixd.tv app is already faster than YouTube's flash player (with our video player not yet fully optimized). In the screencast below you see the same 1080p video (scaled down by the players) as it is running in Safari and then playing in mixd.tv's mplayer.

The frame rate in the mixd.tv app is way higher than in YouTube's flash player. Filmed from a MacMini (1.83 GHz) on OSX Version 10.5.8.
